Calibrating your scales is very important, and ensures your scales will keep within tolerance.
To calibrate your XpressTint scales, follow the instructions below.
To begin with your Calibration, make sure the scales are turned Off.
Hold On/Off + PCS together for 3 seconds and release. You will hear a beep.
The scales will show you a series of Function numbers, F01 through to F06. You need to make sure the Function numbers are set correctly before the calibration begins.
To save a value, hit the On/Off button, to cycle through the options, press the UNIT key until you match the setting on the scales with the Function numbers below:
- F-01 – 0
- F-02 – 2
- F-03 – 2.0
- F-04 – 0.5
- F-05 – 0.5
- F-06 – 0
When you are finished the scales will show 0 CAL. Press UNIT to change the value to 1 CAL.
Press On/Off 7 times until a series of calibration numbers flash. A circular icon at the bottom of the screen will be displayed, indicating that the scales are level and ready for calibration. Press On/Off one more time to proceed to calibration.
When the phrase CAL-1 comes up, place the 1KG weight on the scales, and allow the scales to measure the weight. The word PASS-1 will briefly appear. Remove the weight.
When the phrase CAL-2 comes up, place all the weights, (measuring in total 2kg), on top of the scales and allow the scales to measure the total weight.
The Scales will display a sequence of numbers, 1 through 9, and will Beep to indicate it is finished.
Press UNIT to cycle through to the other measuring options until you reach grams, (g), and test your weights.
It is generally a good idea to continue to test weight the different weights periodically to keep your scales within calibration.

The XpressTint scales are capable of running in multiple modes, and it is important that you are reading it correctly when you weigh it. When you are reading an XpressTint formula, we either display it in mL’s or grams. Obviously, when you weigh it, you want to weigh each colourant in grams.
To set the scales to grams, simply hit the cycle button until you see the Grams symbol, .
Remember to periodically test your scales by placing a known weight on top. If you place a 20g weight on your scales it should read 20g!
