Bathtub Restoration with Evic Paints
What do you get when you combine a discarded bathtub, a skilled team, and high-performance coatings? A stunning transformation that proves almost anything can be revived with the right products and expertise.
Sunshine Coast CNC recently tackled a unique project: restoring a bathtub they found in disrepair on the classifieds. Heavily worn and weathered, the tub had certainly seen better days. But with some professional guidance and quality materials, it was given a whole new lease on life.

The project began with surface preparation using Evic’s 004 Rapid Set Epoxy, a fast-curing, reliable primer designed to provide superior adhesion and substrate sealing. This critical first step ensured the coatings that followed would have a strong foundation to bond to.
For the interior of the bathtub, the team chose Evic’s 300 Imperite clone in gloss finish. Known for its durable polyurethane formulation and high-gloss aesthetic, this product delivered a brilliant, smooth surface that not only looked clean and new, but also provided long-term protection against water and wear.
To complete the look, the exterior was coated in Evic’s 410 Polytuff Black in 30% gloss, giving the bath a sleek, contemporary finish. This black tone added contrast and character, elevating the overall style of the piece and making it feel right at home in a modern bathroom setting.
Evic Paints’ local representative, Gary, played a key role in supporting the project from start to finish, ensuring the right products and techniques were used at every step.
This renovation is a testament to how professional-grade polyurethane coatings can do more than protect surfaces—they can breathe new life into forgotten fixtures. With the right preparation, application, and product selection, restorations like this can turn even the most weathered items into eye-catching features once more.
